A tenant’s bathroom leak. A concealed shower connection.
The tenant reported an upstairs bathroom leak, with damage to the ceiling below and saturated skirting. ADI investigated where the water was escaping and kept the landlord informed of the findings and repair options.
Following the evidence behind the fittings
The engineer used an endoscope and removed the bath panel and toilet boxing to inspect concealed areas. Saturated plasterboard behind the shower led to further investigation. Targeted access through the plasterboard in the adjacent en suite exposed a leaking shower-mixer connection behind the wall.
Connection repaired; visual checks completed
ADI repaired the leaking connection. Visual tests showed no further leaking at the time of the visit. That finding relates to the check made on this repair; it is not a pressure-test result or a guarantee about every pipe in the property.
Reinstatement remained a separate step
The damaged plasterboard still needed replacing. The investigation involved opening panels and the wall, so a completed plumbing repair did not mean all the affected finishes had been restored.
