Give the surveyor the recent history
Gather photographs taken from inside the property and any earlier roof reports. Include dates of recent repairs and explain whether the mark returns in the same place. If you manage only one flat in the building, establish who can provide information about the roof and arrange access to shared areas.
Choose a suitable survey method
ADI investigates flat and pitched roofs using methods that can include internal inspection, moisture measurement, drone surveys and electronic membrane testing. The appropriate method depends on the roof and conditions. Describe its height, covering and access on the call so the team can discuss a suitable investigation.
Use the findings to brief the repair contractor
ADI does not carry out roof or structural repairs. Keep the survey findings available when arranging a roofing contractor, together with your photographs and previous repair records. Ask for clarification of any location that is unclear before passing the information on. That gives everyone working on the property a consistent account of the investigation.
Roof & rainwater ingress: common questions
Will the roof be repaired during the survey?
No. ADI investigates the leak; roof and structural repairs need to be arranged with an appropriate contractor.
