ADI leak investigation: Drainage investigations

Get a clearer picture of the problem.

If a drain problem keeps returning, gather the previous contractor notes before booking another visit. ADI carries out CCTV drain investigations to examine the pipe and record the location of defects found.

Describe the recurring problem

Tell the team which fittings are affected and whether the issue involves one home or several. Include the dates of any earlier clearance work and the contractor’s findings. A drain plan is helpful if you have one. For a managed block, ask the building contact whether there are records of similar reports elsewhere.

Inspect inside the drain

ADI’s drain survey uses a CCTV camera to examine the pipe following cleaning. The camera can be traced from above ground to locate problems found during the inspection. Photographs and video support the written findings, providing information to help plan repair work. Discuss preparation and the survey scope when booking.

Make the inspection points accessible

Identify any known chambers in the garden, yard or shared driveway and tell the team about access restrictions. Arrange a keyholder if the tenant will be out. Keep details of the visit with the existing drainage records and make sure the person arranging repairs receives the findings, including any areas that could not be inspected.
